Is my data really private? How is it handled regarding GDPR?+
FileBender is built on privacy-first principles. Your data is processed locally in your browser, meaning your files are never uploaded to our servers.
To ensure GDPR compliance, we keep you in full control of your information. For specific tasks requiring external data (like live currency conversions), we only transmit the minimum necessary cell values—such as a date—to fulfill the request. We never send your full dataset or sensitive information to external servers.
What file formats are supported?+
CSV, Excel (.xlsx, .xls), and JSON for both input and output. Multi-file merging is built in.
How large a file can I process?+
The Free plan handles up to 5,000 rows. Starter handles up to 10,000 rows — enough for basic CRM, finance, and e-commerce exports. Pro and team plans have no limits.
Do I need to know formulas or code?+
No. Every transformation is a visual block — drag, connect, configure. Power users can drop into regex or calculated columns when needed.
Can I share flows with my team?+
Yes! You can share any flow via a link. Your colleagues can then drag and drop their own files—provided they have the same column structure—and receive a transformed file immediately at no additional cost.
There is a limit to how many times a colleague can use your link, which varies based on your specific plan (see our Pricing page for details). Once they reach this limit, they will need to create their own account; from there, they can copy your flow and edit it within their own workspace.
Note: When you share a flow via a link, the recipient does not have editing rights—they can only process files. This ensures colleagues won’t accidentally break your original flow.
What happens when my file schema changes?+
FileBender flags missing or renamed columns before running. You can remap with one click instead of rebuilding the flow.
Can I process files in bulk?+
Yes, you can add multiple inputs to each flow (they can even be in different formats, such as one in CSV and another in Excel), edit each of them separately if needed, and then merge the files into one when building a flow. You can also split files into multiple parts if needed (for example, when your tool has upload limits).
What kind of data transformations are possible in FileBender?+
FileBender supports all transformations possible in Excel, including advanced formulas and complex scripts. Beyond one-time edits, it enables you to build a "flow"—a custom sequence of transformations. Once your flow is set up, you can upload a file to run the entire list of actions automatically. This is perfect for data cleaning, complex calculations, and custom scripting that are done on a regular basis.
